HVAC Tax Credits Are No Longer Available
The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), signed in July 2025, has a significant impact on home energy incentives by accelerating the expiration of tax credits from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) to December 31, 2025. This legislation removes or sunsets major credits for HVAC systems, heat pumps, and residential solar (25D), meaning that equipment must be installed by this date to qualify for the credits.
